Brownwood News – On Sunday, August 19th, a homeowner in the 100 block of East River Oaks in Early arrived home at approximately 2:30 p.m. to find a vehicle parked in their driveway. When the homeowner got out to investigate, a white male exited the home and got into the vehicle. The victim questioned the individual about who he was and what he was doing. The suspect gave a name, which later proved to be false, and stated he was supposed to “meet a girl here.” The suspect began to drive away, backing up until the car touched the victim and then sped out through the yard. The vehicle was described as a older model gray ford escort with Texas license plate FXN2017. The suspect was described as a white male with short dark hair, a light goatee, and tattoos on his forearms. The vehicle information was broadcast to all surrounding areas but was not located. The homeowner learned a handgun had been taken from inside the home. It was later learned the vehicle had changed owners several times and had not been re-registered. The investigation is continuing and a person of interest has been identified as of the press release.
