The Early Police Department has joined the Facebook community in an effort to keep people posted with news and alerts of events going on in their city.
Many departments throughout the nation have joined the social media group in order to aid in solving crimes, strengthen police-community relations and enhance services.
Early Chief of Police David Mercer explained that Facebook will help the department to reach citizens more quickly by sending safety messages about crimes committed in just minutes, share safety tips and announce details of block parties with national night out and of neighborhood watch meetings along with many more topics.
“I encourage everyone to look up the Early Police Department on Facebook and click the like button and join our community,” said Mercer.
