According to Early Police Chief David Mercer, the burglary of a storage building which resulted in the loss of approximately $22,000 in home furnishings is being investigated and EPD hopes the public can provide information to help solve the case.

On February 27th, The Early Police Department investigated the burglary of a storage building in the 1000 block of Early Blvd where the suspects gained entry by removing the lock, then completely emptied the storage unit once inside, according to Mercer.

Chief Mercer explained that the burglary occurred sometime between February 19th to February 27th and that several of the items were large, indicating that at least 2 people were involved in the crime. According to Mercer, some of the items stolen included a mustard colored leather and cloth sofa, a recliner, an Ashley wood carved dresser, a hutch with a lion head pulls, antique coffee tables, a blue wooden book case, a twin size pine and iron bed, a boar hog skull mounted on wood plaque, a cowhide rug, western paintings, 1925 Kelly spurs, Campbell handmade spurs, leather chaps, a Bryar bit, a large baseball collection, a Maytag stainless steel side by side refrigerator, Maytag white washer and dryer set, a 30” flat screen LCD TV, a Fender Electric Guitar in black and white case, a ¾ size acoustic fender guitar, a Toshiba laptop, a Dell laptop and a compound bow (with case, bag and arrows) plus several other items. The total value estimated on all of these items was approximately $22,000.
