Early PD Arrests Man After Finding Evidence of Child Pornography

Brownwood News – On Wednesday, July 12th, at approximately 10 a.m. officers with the Early Police Department arrested 32-year-old Terrance (Terry) Harold Hess on charges of Possession of Child Pornography and Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.

On June 30, 2017, the Early Police Department began investigating Hess after his girlfriend reported finding child pornography on his tablet. The girlfriend reportedly told police she had suspected Hess was cheating on her and she was looking at his tablet for evidence. Instead she discovered Hess had been viewing and downloading child pornography.

After the shocking discovery, the woman began worrying about her own 4-year-old daughter, knowing that Terrance Hess had been alone with the child while she was at work. The woman then took the 4-year-old to the emergency room for an examination which revealed a sexual assault had occurred.

A police officer examined the tablet to confirm the content, and then placed the tablet into evidence. A search warrant was obtained to examine the tablet further at which time it was taken to the Secret Service for a forensic examination to reveal the content and how much child pornography was present on the device.

Terrance Hess was arrested today at a home in Shamrock Shores in Lake Brownwood by Early Police Officers and Brown County Sheriff’s Deputies. Hess is currently being held in the Brown County jail in lieu of bonds totaling $100,000.
