The Early Middle School 2014 One-Act Play Team participated at the UIL District 7-AAA One-Act Play competition on November 24, 2014. EMS was awarded 1st place for their performance of “The Marvelous Playbill.”

“The Marvelous Playbill,” a comedy written by Tim Kelly and produced by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois, tells the story of a down-and-out theatrical producer who plays on the vanity of the local lords and ladies by announcing “The Marvelous Playbill,” an entertainment so unusual that only a pure-blooded aristocrat can see it. The announcement brings people pouring in to see the show that will prove their noble blood. However, the trickster producer has no show…he only describes to them what they should be seeing! The audience panics at the thought of the others finding out they are not pure-blood, and soon human vanity is in full force as they all tell outrageous lies about “The Marvelous Playbill.”
