Early ISD’s LIFT Program was represented by 31 students at the Texas Future Problem Solving State Bowl the weekend of April 19. The students (fifth to tenth graders) competed over the topic, Ocean Soup. The students who participate in TFPSP are taught by Lori Beck and Peggy Morales.
The 8th grade Creative Drama team of Caleb Callaway, Courtnie Smith, Maggie Yantis, Madison Horton, and Hallie Tyler (pictured at top) won Grand Champion with their creative drama over the topic, Culture of Celebrity. They are taught by Lori Beck.
Maggie Yantis (left) and Parker Smith (right), both 8th graders, competed in the Global Issues Problem Solving Alternates Competition- Intermediate Division. Parker’s team won first place and Maggie’s team won third place.
Sydney Neel, 6th grade, won third place in the Individual Global Issues Problem Solving Competition, Junior Division. She competed against seven individuals from across the State of Texas. Pictured above are Sydney and her teacher Lori Beck.
