earlylonghornslogoEarly High School has scheduled student alcohol and drug testing times for next week that may be required for many students.   Alcohol & drug testing is required for all Early High School students who choose to participate in extracurricular activities or need a parking permit.  The testing will be held Monday, August 9, from 2:30 – 4:00 pm in the EHS Student Activity Center.

The Early ISD school policy states that the purposes of the drug-testing program are to: prevent injury, illness, and harm resulting from the use of illegal and performance enhancing drugs or alcohol; help enforce a drug-free educational environment; deter student use of illegal and performance enhancing drugs or alcohol; and educate students regarding the harm caused by the use of illegal and performance-enhancing drugs or alcohol.

In addition, students can be randomly tested throughout the school year.

The district policy states that drug testing of any student in grades 7–12 who chooses to participate in school-sponsored extracurricular activities or park a vehicle on District property. A student participating in these activities shall be tested for the presence of illegal drugs and alcohol at the beginning of each school year and prior to joining an extracurricular program or being issued a parking permit at any time during the school year. In addition, students shall be randomly tested throughout the school year.

ALL students in grades 9-12 MUST participate in the Early ISD Alcohol and Drug Testing Program to be eligible for:
