Brownwood News – The Early City Council met at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12th, at Early City Hall to discuss items on the agenda. The council also held a public hearing on the 2017-2018 Fiscal Year Budget.

Some last minute adjustments were made to the proposed budget in order to account for additional revenue sources, including proceeds from the sale of city property to Solaris for a parking lot.

After the public hearing session was closed, the city council voted to adopt the 2017-2018 Fiscal Year Budget.

Early Police Chief David Mercer then discussed National Night Out, an event that encourages relationship-building between neighborhoods and law enforcement through block parties, festivals, parades, and cookouts. Everyone is invited to attend their neighborhood’s event.

Interested community members who would like to host a block party are welcome to contact the Early Police Department: 325-646-5322, the Early Chamber of Commerce: 325-649-9317, or the Brownwood Chamber of Commerce: 325-646-9535. The event starts at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3rd.
