The Heart of Texas Friends of NRA celebrated their new membership with a ribbon cutting held at the Early Chamber of Commerce on July 31st. The Heart of Texas Friends of NRA is a local nonprofit organization that is passionate and concerned about shooting sports and securing Second Amendment rights.
The Heart of Texas Friends of NRA will hold its first Heart of Texas Friends of NRA Banquet on August 9, 2013 at Brownwood Coliseum, 500 E. Baker starting at 6 p.m. According to the group, there is something for everyone at the Heart of Texas Friends of NRA banquet. From the exciting atmosphere of a silent auction to the delicious food, it’s sure to be a good time. Items up for auction include exclusive, limited edition merchandise, firearms, knives, art, jewelry, and more. It is also a great venue to meet new people and membership is not required to participate.
The NRA Foundation allocates half of all net proceeds to fund projects within the state where the money was raised and uses the other half to fund similar projects with a national scope.
“Fifty percent of the proceeds raised from the banquet will go back to our kids in our community, whether it be for shooting sports or Texas Parks and Wildlife where they teach the kids to shoot. Those funds can also go to our law enforcement agencies – they can apply for grants for supplies that they might need,” said Bonnie Belvin, Chairman for the Heart of Texas Friends of NRA.
For more information on how to join the Heart of Texas Friends of NRA or to purchase a ticket to the banquet go to www.friendsofnra.org or call Pat O’Bryan at 325-642-0284 or Bonnie Belvin at 325-646-1382.
Whether you attend a Friends of NRA banquet for the fun, fellowship, or fundraising, organizers state that participants can be confident that they are helping safeguard programs across the nation that prepare today’s generations to be tomorrow’s guardians of the Second Amendment.
