Written by Ben Cox – A local business has a new location and new owners, but the same great attention to detail as always.

Early Blooms & Things has moved from its original location, to just down the street after being purchased by its new owners, Leslie and Zane Barnes.

Taking over the business was not on the radar for the Barnes’s, but a fateful “Happy Birthday” bouquet changed all of that. “The Lord really opened a door for me to open my own business, which I have always wanted to do. Zane stopped by to get me some flowers for my birthday, and Laurie asked him if he knew of anyone interested in a flower shop. He said that he just might!” Barnes says with a laugh.

She says that the business fulfilled a desire that she had always kept tucked away in the back of her mind. “I’ve always loved putting flowers together, and I have always wanted to run my own boutique, and this type of business is very much in that world. So when he and I talked about it, we decided to go for it!”

“I love doing this, all the details that go into making a bequest or casket spread. I want my clients to know that I care about their occasion as much as they do. I get to take part, at least in some small way, in celebrating a birth or honoring someone’s life, and that means a lot to me.”

The new shop is located just behind the new Burger King and Edward Jones, off of Early Blvd. With arrangements for every occasion, from Prom flowers to ‘Just Because’ bouquets for that certain someone, to Funerals and Weddings, Early Blooms & Things is open six days a week for any floral need.

Their address and hours of operation can be found on their Facebook page, along with a link for online ordering.
