Early High School hosted the annual Heart of Texas Marching Festival on Saturday with a record 21 bands performing this year. Bands from Bronte, Eldorado, Coleman, Mason, Goldthwaite, Menard, Eden, Seymour, Winters, Miles, Rising Star, Wall, Christoval, Comanche, Breckenridge, Cisco, Bangs, San Saba, Sonora, Brownwood and Early all participated. Howard Payne University played an exhibition performance to close out this year’s festival.
Early High School’s band won Overall Champion in the competition for the second year in a row. They also won awards for Fan Favorite band and Outstanding Percussion. Brownwood secured the Outstanding Drum Majors award for the second year in a row as well as Outstanding 3A band. Bangs was awarded Outstanding Brass. All three Brown County schools also received a Division I rating. See full results from the competition below.
