A Memorial Service for Earl George Stinson, age 83, of Lake Brownwood, Texas will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 12, 2016 at The Fisherman’s Chapel at Lake Brownwood with Pastor Terry Test officiating.
Earl George Stinson was born on August 2, 1926 in Carter, Oklahoma to Reuben M. And Ida Osborn Stinson. He grew up in the Olton Community and served in the United States Army during WW II. Mr. Stinson received his B.A. degree from Texas Tech University and his M.A. degree from Arizona State University. He was married to Jane Wheeler in Olton and she preceded him in death. Mr. Stinson taught journalism in Tyler, El Paso and Phoenix before retiring. After moving to North Lake Brownwood he was very active in The Fisherman’s Chapel Church and was one of the founding members.Earl passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 in Coleman, Texas. He was laid to rest next to his wife Jane on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 in the Littlefield Cemetery in Littlefield, Texas.
Survivors include his son David Stinson of Phoenix, AZ; his brother Spud Stinson of Coleman; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Eunice Stinson and by two infant daughters Laura and Nancy Stinson.
