Brownwood News – The Department of Public Safety, on Wednesday morning, March 4, released the preliminary crash report on a one-vehicle accident that took the life of an Early, Texas resident.
According to the report, the accident was 2.1 miles Southeast of Early on U.S. 84. The posted speed limit in the area is 75 mph.
A 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Angela Brooke New, 34 of Early, was pronounced dead at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.
The vehicle was traveling Southeast on U.S. 84 in the left lane. A vehicle in front of the Tahoe slowed to make a left turn onto County Road 312. The Tahoe veered right to avoid hitting the turning vehicle, struck a guard rail, went down an embankment and rolled over. The driver was not wearing a seat belt.
The crash remains under investigation, according to the report.
