Greg Dodds, President and CEO of TexasBank is pleased to announce the addition of Doug McLean as Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer.
McLean is relocating to the Brownwood area from El Paso where he has actively been involved in the banking industry for the last 27 years. For a preponderance of that time, he has served as President and Board Member of First National Bank-Fabens. During his tenure at FNB-Fabens the bank was recognized numerous times as a top performing bank on a nationwide basis.
Prior to working for FNB-Fabens, McLean worked in various leadership and lending capacities in the El Paso banking industry as well as for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency as a National Bank Examiner. McLean and his wife, Patricia, have two children, Michael and Sara. Both are currently students at Texas Tech University.
McLean said, “I am excited about the opportunity to fulfill our goal of moving to the Central Texas area while continuing to work for a true community bank. Although we were literally in different time zones, I feel that FNB-Fabens and TexasBank have had very similar cultures. Both banks have proven track records of accomplishing strong results while also serving the communities in which they are located. I look forward to being a part of the TexasBank team.”
The McLeans have owned land near Blanket since 2012. Initially, they had the intention of retiring there sometime in the future. However, FNB-Fabens was recently purchased by a larger bank which gave them the opportunity to accelerate their plans and move this way sooner. In addition to his professional life, Doug has been farming and raising an Angus herd at his ranch from over 500 miles away over the last several years. He is excited about becoming more active in that operation as well.
“It’s not very often that we have the opportunity to hire someone of Doug’s caliber who is so committed and passionate about living and working in rural Texas, Dodds said. His accomplishments as a banker and leader in the El Paso market for the last 27 years speak for themselves and we believe that, along with his demonstrated high level of character and integrity, makes him the perfect complement to our executive management team. With a portfolio of products and services that rivals the big banks, TexasBank is constantly seeking to hire and invest in a leadership team that can continue to provide the type of service and attention that our customers have become accustomed to and that our community deserves. Doug definitely fits this mold!”
TexasBank is a full service community bank with eight locations serving Brown, Comanche, Erath and Eastland counties. Member FDIC.
