Funeral services for Dorothy Wilma Thomas, 85, of May, will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, March 19, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, March 18, at the funeral home. Mrs. Thomas passed away on Monday, March 15, 2010, in Abilene Texas. Dorothy Wilma Thomas was born on January 24, 1925, the daughter of Otis Dewey Thomas and Flossie Jane Jones Thomas. She grew up at Holder and attended Holder and Williams schools. She married Hillman Wayne Thomas on May 18, 1946, in Brownwood.
Mrs. Thomas was a lifelong resident of Brown County and a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Hillman Thomas; three sons, James Thomas and wife Laverne, of Early, Ronald Thomas and wife Betty, of Cross Plains and Gerald Thomas of May; daughter, Hilda Foster and husband Harmon, of May; daughter in law Ginger Thomas of Brownwood; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; several great-great- grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Leo Desmond Thomas and Otis Wayne Thomas; one niece and one great-grandson. Friends and family members are invited to sign the online guestbook at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
