Dorothy Vineyard, age 77, of Coleman, died Sunday, August 25, 2019 at the Coleman County Medical Center.
The family will have a time of visitation on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street in Coleman.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the Elm Street Church of Christ, 216 Elm Street, in Coleman. Daniel Harrell will officiate the service and Bob Martin will assist. Burial will follow in the Midway Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
She was born Dorothy Louise Kirby on February 20, 1942 in Abilene, Texas to Dexter Kirby and Hazel Young Kirby. Dorothy attended school at Novice and graduated from Novice High School. She married James Vineyard on December 9, 1961 in Novice. She has resided in Coleman County all her life where she was a wife, mother and teacher’s aide for the Coleman I.S.D. for 12 years. Dorothy loved golfing, playing tennis, doing arts and crafts, and yard work. Most of all, she loved her family. Dorothy was a member of the Elm Street Church of Christ.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, James Vineyard of Coleman; two daughters, Pam Adams and husband Eddie of Coleman, Tanya Barker and husband Mike of Coleman; one son, Todd Vineyard and wife Marla of Bridgeport; grandchildren, Shayla McGary and husband Patrick, Zach Adams and wife Jennifer, Kaylie Bolton and husband Cole, Chase Vineyard, Chelsi Vineyard, Creed Vineyard, Blaine Barker, Chanie Schaffner and husband Cade, Courtlyn Barker, Braxton Barker; great-grandchildren, Kaden Nelson, Chantz Adams, Karter McGary, Kenna McGary, Colter Adams, Steehl Bolton, Callen Adams; two brothers, Edward Kirby and wife Marie of Rowlett, James Kirby and wife Sharon of Portry; two sisters, Eola Lewis of Coleman, and Patricia Parton of Coleman.
