Funeral services for Dorothy Jean Pilkington, age 87, of Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Brian Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
Mrs. Pilkington passed from this life on Monday, July 30, 2018, surrounded by her family.
Dorothy Jean West was born on July 18, 1931 in Rosebud to Preston and Odie (Young) West. She attended Santa Anna schools. Dorothy worked as an LVN for twenty years, serving at Brownwood Regional Medical Center and Medical Arts. She married Harry Pilkington on May 27, 2000 in Brownwood.
Dorothy was a member of Haven of Hope Church.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Bob Pierce and wife Debbie, Vic Pierce and wife Barbara, Sandy Stockman and husband Thom, Diane Dobbins and husband Steve, Pam Freeman and husband David and Jeff Schafer; grandchildren, Vicki Pierce, Stephen Pierce and wife Noel, Clinton Stockman and wife Sherry, Britni Camarda and husband Leon, Bradley Dobbins and wife Sasha, Karen Liddy and husband John, Jade Ogden and husband Tyler; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends that were very special to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry Pilkington and two sisters, Frances Berry and Marie Yates.
