Funeral services for Dorothy Graves, age 75, of Brownwood, will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 22, 2010 in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Ryan Smithey officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM, Monday in the Hooker City Cemetery in Hooker, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 6:00 until 7:00.
Ms. Graves died Thursday, August 19, 2010 in Songbird Lodge.
She was born on June 12, 1935 in Vivian, Louisiana to John & Gertrude (Young) Terry. Dorothy worked as a caregiver to the elderly. She moved to Brownwood in 2000 from Lubbock and was a resident of Brownwood Manor for several years. She was a member of the 4th & Stewart Church of Christ.
Dorothy is survived by two brothers, James Terry and wife Dora of Perryton, Roy Terry and wife Estelle of Lewisville, three sisters, Marie White of Brownwood, Lenora Barrett and husband Alan of Rowlett, and Lou Newton and husband Ralph of Houma, Louisiana, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Alford, Eddie, John and Elmer Terry; two sisters, Mary Lou Terry and Margie Clawson.
