Dorothy Dean Lawrence Crutsinger, age 93, of Brownwood passed away Thursday, December 14, 2012. Formerly of Wichita Falls, she was born January 30, 1919, in Zephyr, Texas. In high school she enjoyed playing basketball. Mrs. Crutsinger married Harold D. Crutsinger on September 4, 1937, and they celebrated 64 years of marriage. They had two sons, Gerald and Harold Ray.
The family moved to Wichita Falls in 1946 where she was a housewife and devoted mother serving as Cub and Boy Scout den mother for her sons. During this time, she also became an avid Avon collector. When Harold retired, they moved back to Brownwood in 1976 where they would live in Harold’s original family home on Belle Plain until it was destroyed by fire in 1989. They both were long-time members of Belle Plain Baptist Church.Two daughter-in-laws, Carla Crutsinger of Carrollton, Texas and Pat Crutsinger of Austin, Texas survive her. Her grandchildren include Glynn Crutsinger; Sam Crutsinger; Howard Crutsinger and wife, Laura; Randy Crutsinger and wife, Jenn; and Lisa Crutsinger. Great grandchildren include Hunter and Travis Crutsinger; Cooper, Benjamin, and Cole Crutsinger; Kale and Katelyn McCann; and Daniel Gonzales.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Crutsinger; parents, George and Stella Lawrence; grandson, Rusty Crutsinger; sons, Gerald and Harold R. Crutsinger; brothers, Carroll, Bernice, and Narvin Lawrence; and sisters, Ione Brewer and Grace Driskill.
The services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 22, 2012, in the Davis Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Greenleaf Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Glynn Crutsinger, Sam Crutsinger, Howard Crutsinger, Randy Crutsinger, Hunter Crutsinger, Travis Crutsinger, and Kale McCann.
