GotcherDorisDoris Gotcher, age 83, of Brownwood went peacefully to her eternal home Tuesday, April 5, 2016.

Graveside Services for Doris will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Lost Creek Cemetery near May, Texas with Bro. Eddie Ailshie officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.

Doris was born on July 21, 1932 to Elvin and Jessie Pennington. She married Gene Gotcher on September 26, 1953; they were married almost 50 years until Gene’s passing. Gene and Doris had a special kind of love. Doris was very well known for her devotion to her children, as well as being her grandchildren and great- grandchildren’s personal playmate. She devoted her entire life to her family and is leaving a very big void in their lives. She loved playing games, working puzzles, and watching her two favorite shows “Wheel of Fortune” and “The Price is Right”. She worked at Brownwood Manufacturing for over 40 years.

Doris leaves behind her beloved children, Ricky Gotcher and wife Charlene of Waco and Cindy Hudson of Brownwood; grandchildren, Mandy Hudson, Tiffany and Adam Chambers, Hailey Hudson, Misty and Mark James, Mindy and Chris Gasson, Shane and Melinda Gotcher, Timmy and Gilyana Gotcher, and 12 beloved great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, June Farris of Coleman; brothers Jerry Pennington and wife Sandra of Brownwood, and Carl Pennington of Brownwood; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Gotcher; parents, Elvin and Jessie Pennington; two sisters, Beatrice Pea and Nelda Reiger; 3 brothers, Billy Joe Pennington, Lewis Pennington, Buddy Pennington; and son-in-law, Billy Hudson.
