On April 4, 2016, Dora Alice Weiershausen went to meet her Lord and Savior. She loved the Lord, her church and family. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Early. Dora was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Dora was born December 10, 1929, Stonewall, Texas in Gillespie County to Edwin and Hilda Petsch Grobe. She grew up in Fredricksburg, Texas and graduated high school there in 1947. She attended and graduated from Johnson’s Cosmetology School in San Antonio. Dora married the love of her life, Henry (Hank) Weiershausen, at Bethany Lutheran Church in 1948. She was employed in four of Foley’s Department stores as a supervisor in Human Resources and Staff Coordinator in Houston. Retiring after 25 years of employment, she and her husband built a home on a ranch in Zephyr, Texas, near Brownwood. Later they moved to town in Early, Texas.
Survivors include her son Kelly Weiershausen and wife Lorna, her two children Kiersten and Kinley Kott; grandson Justin Weiershausen; great grandsons Aiden and Eli Weiershausen; granddaughter Amanda Garza and husband Lowell; sister Ruby Hartmann; brother Franklin Grobe; sister-in-law Carlene Grobe, and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Irene Mosel and Gertrude Roos, brothers William and Milton Grobe, brothers-in-law Hardy Mosel and Elgin Hartmann and a sister-in-law Patsy Grobe.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Zephyr Cemetery in Zephyr, Texas with Pastor Phillip Scott officiating. Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 103 Salt Creek Drive, Early, Texas 76802.
