Christmas will be here before you know it and Good Samaritan Ministries has already begun planning for their annual Christmas boxes. Each year GSM puts together a box filled with all of the necessary ingredients for making a traditional Christmas dinner. GSM will begin passing out the boxes December 1st and continue through Dec. 23rd. Some of the items include in the boxes are: dry milk, sweet potatoes, black-eyed peas, sweet peas, peaches, mandarin oranges, stuffing, Jell-O, cornbread mix, flour, cake mix, frosting, sugar, cooking oil, chicken broth, cranberry sauce, fruit juice, cookies, canned pumpkin.
A donation of any of those items would be greatly appreciated. GSM has had a hard time finding enough canned pumpkin so there is a specific need for canned pumpkin. Also, anyone who would like to donate financially to the project, all it takes is $18 to provide a traditional Christmas dinner for one family! Donations may be mailed to GSM at P.O. Box 1136, Brownwood or drop it by our location at 305 Clark Street.
If you’d rather donate food, collection boxes are located at Brownwood City Hall, Burkes Outlet, Family Services Center, Rhinestone Ranch &The Rage, the First United Methodist Church Pre-School, J. B. Stephens Elementary, Fit by Faith, KOXE, Wendlee Broadcasting or Trans Texas Tire.
