Graveside services for Donald Wayne “Don” Shipman, age 73, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 10 AM  Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the Santa Anna Cemetery Pavilion in Santa  Anna, Texas with Rev. David McClean officiating.  Interment will follow under the direction of the Heartland Funeral Home of Early.  The family will receive friends 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.  Mr. Shipman passed away Friday in Brownwood.

Don was born on February 25, 1944 in Santa Anna to R.K. Franklin Shipman and Lila Mae Shepard Shipman. After attending Cisco Junior College, Don obtained his DPS Certification and began his career in law enforcement. He had worked as a Highway Patrolman, a City Policeman and also had worked in the Oilfield. After retirement Don enjoyed wood working and being with his family.  He was also a past Mason, Shriner and of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his children Debra Shipman of Deleon, James Shipman of Dallas, Stephanie Cox and husband Rajib of Brownwood, Damon Pulley and wife Shelley of Brownwood, Angelia Culwell and husband Tim of Cross Plains; his siblings Melvin Shipman and wife Rita, Janice Modawell and husband Bill, Wilma Shipman and Jerry Don Shipman and wife Donna. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Don was preceded in death by his parents R.K.  and Lila Mae Shipman, and a brother Milton Shipman.
