Donald was born July 22, 1929 in Blanket, Texas to Walter Melvin and Nona Beatrice (Allen) Eddings.  He grew up in Blanket and graduated from high school there in 1948.  He then proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy in Korea.  He later attended Odessa College before becoming a postal carrier.  He delivered mail for 32 years in Odessa.   Donald married Sharon Sanders on September 23, 1976; and after retiring from the Postal Service in 1989, they returned to his hometown of Blanket.  Donald loved to play the lotto; but more than that, he loved to spend time with his friends and family and relive his youth.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Sharon Eddings of Blanket; children, Keith and Kelli Eddings of Odessa, Janette and Philip Williams of Brownwood, Ben Kinnard of B-lanket and Sharon Hendrix of Brownwood; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Frances Taylor; brother, Gene Eddings and son, David Eddings.

In lieu of family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association in honor of Donald’s grandson, Kaleb Eddings, who received a new heart this year.
