Donald Lynn Reid, age 77, of Brownwood died Wednesday night at the Abilene Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday in the Netherton Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Indian Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 – 7 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Rev. A. L. Creel and Rev. Brian Hall will officiate.
He was born May 7, 1936 in Brownwood the son of the late Aubrey Lee and Elsie (Loehmann) Reid.
He served his country in the U. S. Army and later worked as a sales representative for Kimbell Foods until becoming disabled and having to retire due to his health. He attended the Pentecostal Church of God in Brownwood and later Trinity Chapel in Early. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Reid of Brownwood
A Son, Steve Reid of Austin
A Step-daughter, Sandy Crouch of Brownwood
A Step-son, Bobby Crouch of Early
A brother, Art Reid of Breckenridge
A Sister – Betty Key of Brownwood
7 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Aubrey Reid, 3 Brothers, Earl, Ronald Gene, and Aubrey Reid and a sister, Doris Zangas.
