Mr. Allgood passed peacefully from this life on August 31, 2014, at his home in Brownwood surrounded by his loved ones.

Donald Dean Allgood was born on May 11, 1934, in Brownwood Texas to Curtis Walter Allgood and Della Lillian (Mobley) Allgood.  After losing his mother at the early age of two, he was raised by his father and step mother Curtis and Rosie Mae (Tabor) Allgood.  He attended school in Brownwood and on September 26, 1953, he married Lois M. Cooley.  Donald had worked in the automotive field doing paint and body work, he also did dirt work and had driven a truck for Merchants for 16 years.

Family was everything to Donald.  They spent the weekends camping out and fishing together and they were also known to play a pretty mean game of softball, having enough family members to build both teams.  Donald also loved hunting and had a special talent for gardening.  He will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Lois Allgood of Brownwood; five daughters, Dovie Carter and husband Larry, Anna Lou Allgood, and Melissa Caine and husband Joe, all of Brownwood; Brenda Denson and husband Jeff, of Fort Hood and Rosa Christian and husband Mike, of Canon City, Colorado; five sons, Donald Jr., Ronald and Rachel, Walter, Jerry and wife Kristie, and Harold and wife Julie, all of Brownwood.  He is also survived by 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one brother, Carol Wayne Denison and one sister, Marquita Allison, all of Brownwood.

He was preceded in death by his brother Harold Lloyd Allgood and his parents, Curtis Allgood, Della Lillian Allgood, and Rosie Mae Allgood.

Family and friends are invited and encouraged to sign the online guestbook at www.nethertonfuneralhome.com.
