Tresta Donahoo continues to add to her weekly American Southwest Conference honors with a fourth player of the week award this season the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
Howard Payne junior point guard Donahoo averaged 18 points, 8.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and three steals over a pair of conference road wins that extended the Lady Jackets’ winning streak to five games.
Donahoo, who takes the division’s top weekly award for the fourth time this season, had nine assists – a single-game high in the league this season – in a 76-62 win over Texas-Dallas. She also had 16 points to help hand UTD its first loss since November 28. On the week she shot 54.5 percent from the floor and made 10 of 13 free throws.
In 2011-12, she played in all 26 games for the Lady Jackets averaging 6.5 points per game. Donahoo scored a season high 16 at East Texas Baptist and dished out five assists in the same game.
Donahoo played in all 30 games for the Lady Jackets in 2010-11. Scoring in double digit five times during the season, she averaged 6.4 points per game and was third on the team in assists with 47. She was second on the team in free-throw attempts (10th in ASC .785 pct). She was named to the ASC West Division Freshman Team.
A 2010 graduate of Early High School, Donahoo helped led her team to regional tournament appearances in 2009 and 2010. She received All-region as well as All-State honors her senior year. Donahoo was also a standout on the softball field garnering All-State honors. She was involved in Texas Scholars, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and FFA.
She is the daughter of Loretta and Bryan Thompson and is majoring in Exercise and Sport Science. She plans to teach and coach after graduation. Donahoo enjoys hunting and the outdoors.
