The American Southwest Conference announced Monday its women’s basketball players of the week and Howard Payne point guard Tresta Donahoo was named ASC West Division Player of the Week.
Howard Payne junior point guard Tresta Donahoo averaged 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, five assists and three steals to fuel a 2-0 start to the season. Donahoo was also 7 of 10 from 3-point range and made 10 of 12 free-throw attempts against Berry and Huntingdon. She had a 24-point, seven assist, five-steal game against Berry and went for a 24-point, 10-rebound double double against Huntingdon.
A 2010 graduate of Early high school, Tresta helped led her team to regional tournament appearances in 2009 and 2010. She received All-region as well as All-State honors her senior year. Tresta was also a standout on the softball field garnering All-State honors. She was involved in Texas Scholars, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and FFA.
She is the daughter of Loretta and Bryan Thompson and is majoring in Exercise and Sport Science. She plans to teach and coach after graduation. Tresta enjoys hunting and the outdoors.
