LowDonFuneral services for Don Low will be Saturday November 5, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Heartland Funeral Home in Early, interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early.

Mr. Low passed away at his home November 2, 2011. Don was a child of God, beloved father, devoted brother, caring friend, and much-adored Papa.

He was born October 1, 1931 in San Saba, Texas to Wood and Sarah Jackson Low.   His family moved to Brownwood in 1941 where he became an outstanding athlete for the Brownwood Lions, excelling in football, basketball, and track. His senior year, he was selected to play in the 1950 Texas High School All Star Game and accepted a scholarship to play college football at Howard Payne. He married his high school sweetheart, Patsy Beene, in 1951. They made their home in Brownwood, where he had a successful career at Holley Chevrolet, winning numerous sales award and taking pride in his many satisfied customers over the years. After retiring from Holley’s, he opened Don Low’s Travel Trailer & Used Boat Sales with his son Tad.

He and Patsy enjoyed frequent RV trips with his brothers and sisters-in-law. He loved watching sports, hunting, fishing, boating, and playing poker, and most of all spending time with his family.

Don is survived by his daughter Donna Weston and her husband John of Del Rio, son Dean Low and wife Cindy of Fort Worth, and son Tad Low and his wife Kim of Brownwood. His eight grandchildren are Bryan Weston, Alyssa Villarreal, Nathan Low, Kimberly Polly, Lori Deeds, Chelsey Snyder, Cade Morris, and Caitlyn Morris. his siblings and their spouses, who were great friends as well as family, are Jack and Millie Low, Joe and Nelda Low, Frazier and Doris Low, Jerry and Helen Low, and Judy and Johnny Pittman. He is also survived by five adored great-grandchildren and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Don is preceded in death by his beloved wife Patsy and his brother Waydene.
