The City of Brownwood recognized dispatchers of Brownwood Police Department last week during Public Safety Communications Week.  Mayor Stephen Haynes recognized local emergency dispatchers during a recent city council meeting.

The proclamation acknowledged that emergencies requiring police, fire or medical services can occur at anytime and those responses by these responders are critical to the protection of life and the preservation of property.  It is during these times of personal crises, public safety communications officers are the first contacts that citizens have with emergency services, and their appropriate response to each caller’s need is critical, explained Haynes.

Haynes proclaimed the week of April 12-18 as Public Safety Communications Week in the City of Brownwood in honor of the men and women whose diligence and professionalism keep the City of Brownwood and its citizens safe.
