This morning, Friday, April 15th, Brownwood emergency coordinators are doing a communications test which is a part of the upcoming disaster drill.

Residents who have scanners may hear what sounds like a disaster striking the Brownwood area; however, this is just a test.

Brown County Emergency Coordinator Brent Bush explained to Brownwood News that this is just a test to make sure that communications resources are able to transmit successfully with their communications trailers along with other first responders throughout the county.  There will also be a team with an emergency trailer from Comanche participating according to Bush.

Remember although this sounds like a real disaster, it is just a drill.  A simulated test with emergency personnel will take place in the near future that will give real hands on experience that will be priceless if an actual disaster were to strike the area.
