DidiSchluckebierMemorial services for Diana “Didi” Schluckebier, age 59, of Lake Brownwood, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011 at St. Mary’s Queen of Peace Church, Reverend Benedict Zientek officiating.  Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday at Netherton Funeral Home & Cremations.   She passed away January 2, at her home.

Didi was born April 27, 1951 in Anchorage, Alaska, the daughter of the late William and Marion Werth.  She married Bill Schluckebier on December 27, 1971 in Lincoln, Nebraska.  She had been a member of St. Mary’s since moving to Brownwood in 1977.  Didi lived her life to the fullest.  Didi lived her life with a sense of adventure.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother with a quick-witted sense of humor.  She loved travel, valued education and enjoyed gardening.  She spent many happy years working at Woodland Heights Elementary.

Didi is survived by her husband, Bill Schluckebier of Lake Brownwood; son, Adam Schluckebier; daughter Liz Brown and husband, Rupert, of Dallas; grandchild, Hector; and sisters, Kristin DeLaet and Susan Petersen.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
