Dennis Lee Scott, age 77, of Coleman, passed from this life on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Holiday Hill Nursing Home.

Recital of the Holy Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2020 followed by a visitation at 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 East College Street, in Coleman. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

Dennis was born July 2, 1942 in Minot, North Dakota to George W. Scott and Lulu Sartwell Scott. He grew up in Lemmon, South Dakota where he excelled in basketball and football at Lemmon High School. Dennis married Carole Nicksic on October 5, 1963 in Peoria, Illinois and together volunteered as team members at Cursillo. He and Carole moved to Texas in 1985 and then to Coleman in 1992. Dennis was an assistant district manager for the Allsups chain stores. He loved spreading the word of God, and teaching them the true meaning of being a Christian. One way that he did that was by teaching CCD. Dennis loved watching football and volunteering for the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Most of all, Dennis was a family man and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He leaves behind an amazing legacy for his family and will truly be missed.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carole Scott; brother, Sheldon Scott; sisters, Donna Mae Scott, Ursula Short, and Eileen Paranto and husband Ray.

He is survived by his children, Jodi Scott of East Peoria, Illinois, Michael Scott and wife Brandi of Springtown; seven grandchildren, Leif Scott and wife Kelli, Logan Scott and wife Karli, Dillon Scott and wife Tate, Hailey Patton and husband Christopher, Tori Lamar and fiancée Rob Henderson, Viola Timms and husband Eldon Roberts, Drew Petrey; seven great-grandchildren, Lilly Scott, Emmy Scott, Jagger Scott, Aubrey Patton, Kali Timms, Ty McClenden, and Kameron McClenden.
