txdot-ogPublic Notice – Crews with Scott Tucker Construction Company, LLC are scheduled to begin demolition and replacement of the bridge crossing Salt Creek on Brown County Road 334 beginning Thursday, Dec. 1. The $404,729.68 project is expected to take approximately three months to complete. This location is just east of US 183, northeast of Brownwood Regional Airport.

Throughout the construction period, traffic will be detoured along CR 334 to CR 369, to CR 3100, and back to CR 334. The current bridge was built in 1982 and can no longer accommodate vehicles weighing more than 8,000 pounds. The new bridge will have no weight restrictions.

This bridge replacement project is being funded through the Highway Bridge Program, a federal aid program that provides funding to enable states to improve the condition of highway bridges through replacement, rehabilitation and systematic preventive maintenance. TxDOT’s Bridge Division is responsible for administering this program statewide.

TxDOT’s Brownwood District includes Brown, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, Lampasas, McCulloch, Mills, San Saba and Stephens counties.
