Graveside funeral services with full Masonic Rites for Deard Eldon Roberts, 85, of Brownwood, will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, July 14, in Trickham Cemetery with Pastor Brian Hall officiating. Interment will follow, under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home.
Mr. Roberts passed away on Monday, July 11, 2011, in Brownwood.
Deard Eldon Roberts was born on October 18, 1925, at Indian Creek to Charles Edward and Beulah Mae Lewis Roberts. He served his country in the United States Army and later, married Bernice Faye Denton on June 21, 1947, she preceded him in death on May 27, 2003. Mr. Roberts was a farmer and rancher his entire life and was the owner of D & B Western Wear. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a lifelong resident of Brown County.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Vicky Elaine Roberts Dean of Brownwood and nephew Joseph Denton of Alabama; grandchildren, Sabrina, Beverly, Marybeth, Mikka, Bethany and Bryce; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Verta Curry and Carnell Rickenberger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Beulah May Roberts; his wife, Bernice; one son, Michael Eldon Roberts; and siblings, Neomi Roberts, Louise Trowbridge, Bessie Dee, Maurann Curry, Jack Roberts and Charles Edward Roberts, Jr.
