Cremation for Deanna Sue Smith, 70, of Brownwood,took place under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home. A celebration of life Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Zephyr.
Deanna Sue Smith passed away Friday,January 7, 2011.
She was born February 28, 1940 in Gorman, Texas, the daughter of L.K. (Bill) & Olivia (Heun) Mullins. Mrs Smith lived in Brownwood most her life and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
After high school she served in the U. S. Navy. Sue married Artie Lee Smith on February 14,1976. She loved her family, was a great cook, liked to garden, travel and go fishing. She loved puzzles and was a gifted writer.
She is survived by her husband, Artie Smith of Brownwood; son, Kenneth Gardner Jr. of Florida;her mother, Olivia Mullins of Brownwood; one brother, Ted Mullins and his wife Doris of Lancaster, CA; three sisters, Karen Parrish of Brownwood TX, Shirlee Leeand her husband Jimmy of Deport, TX., and Deborah Kilgore and her husband Jim of Zephyr, TX. She is also survived by 4 stepchildren, Randy Smith and Richard Smith of AR and Roger Smith and Raymond Smith of AL; sister-in-law, Carole Smith of Brownwood; two granddaughters and one great grandson. Mrs. Smith is also survived by her Aunt, Ruth Hoffman of Stevensville, MT, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her father, L. K. Mullins.
The family would like to extend a heart felt thank you to the staff of Songbird Lodge for the personal and loving care provided to Sue over the past several years.
