Daylan Robert Donnell Franklin, age 8, of Brownwood, lost his life after a tragic hit-and-run incident on Saturday, December 17th. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday December 22nd, at New Beginnings Church with Aniceto Villarreal officiating, interment will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

The principal at East Elementary where Daylan was a third-grade student recently posted on Facebook, encouraging the community to reach out to his younger siblings. Her post stated, “Many of you have asked how you can help this family. There is a little brother in 1st grade, and a 2 year old sister and 1 year old brother. We would also like to help with their Christmas gifts. Please feel free to message me on Facebook. I would love for us to be able to cover the cost of this unexpected funeral and do all we can to bless this dear family.”

Daylan is remembered as a kind young man, full of energy, with a special heart for his family.
“He was so loving, caring, and helpful,” the boy’s uncle told KTAB/KRBC. “His heart was big and he was always happy. We will always and forever miss our DaeDae so much.”
The boy’s teacher also shared he was well-liked in school. “He was a sweet, sweet boy. Always smiling and happy. He was full of questions, his face so pure, waiting for the answers.”
