Daylan was born on July 21, 2008, to Richard Donnell Franklin and Venessa (Fell) Franklin in Brownwood. He was an amazing son, a wonderful big brother, and a good friend. Daylan had a heart of gold and would give his last to make sure his siblings were o.k.
He was a straight-A, 3rd grader at East Elementary, always full of questions, his face so pure, waiting for the answers. Daylan had a spunky personality and a smile that made you wonder if he was up to something!
Our son meant everything to us; he took a big part of us with him. He will always be our baby and he will forever be in our hearts. We love you son!
Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Venessa Franklin; father, Richard Franklin; siblings, Trae Franklin, Makiyah Davis, and Jeremiah Davis; maternal grandparents, Teresa Fell and Scott Prickett, Robert Fell and wife Ana; paternal grandparents, Tonja Franklin and Ira Banks; aunts, Letoria Morgan, Sherry Franklin, Analisa Fell, and Jennifer Franklin; uncles, Roland Fell, Chris Fell, Ryan Fell, James Banks, Cornell Franklin, Ira Franklin, and Darrell Franklin. He is also survived by numerous cousins, other family, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother, Trinidad Villarreal and maternal great-grandfather, Robert William Fell.

When God Comforted Me – Written by Venessa Franklin
From Heaven he was delivered
As a baby unto you,
When God said to me softly,
I’m trusting you to do
everything that’s needed,
to nurture and love
he’s your little angel
Sent from above.
You see… Spirits cannot be
held, hugged, or kissed.
The body was his vessel
is what you’ll surely miss,
but his spirit that I shared with you
on that special day-
that is what I promise
to never take away.
So he’s back in Heaven now
the earth was not his place.
He taught you all he could
about dignity and grace.
So as you grieve and weep
to see him once again,
I promise he’s waiting here
So when you come to Heaven
He will be waiting right there.
“I love you son more than you could ever know. I can’t wait to get to Heaven to hug you again real tight. My empty heart will never be full again without you my sweet baby.” I Love You Mijo, Mommy
“My baby, he was the love of my life, I always called him, My Love. I would whisper in his ear and say, “Don’t tell anyone, but you are my favorite little boy in the whole world. I love you My Love.” My life will never the same, you are now in Heaven and I will see you again.” Till then, rest in peace my sweet angel, Love Grandma
