Daycare students of the Little Dude Ranch led the Pledge of Allegiance at Tuesday’s Brownwood City Council Meeting and were honored with a mayoral proclamation.
Aeryn Willey, daughter of Brownwood City Manager’s Secretary Ruth Willey and BPD officer Walker Willey, opened the meeting by helping Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes bang the gavel.
Owner of Little Dude Ranch Ann Knobel addressed the council speaking on the effects of abuse on young children in later life, taking 7-8 years off their lives. She also asked the council to support literary incentives, teachers and any public policies that support the welfare of young children.
Mayor Haynes then read a proclamation to the students (pictured above).
Students then passed out cookies to the council members.
