On Monday, July 2nd, the Brownwood ISD Board of Trustees approved the recommendation to hire Mr. David Lambert as the BISD Band Director.
Mr. Lambert previously served as band director for the Pittsburg ISD, and has 19 years of experience in directing high school music programs. In his career, Mr. Lambert has won U.I.L. sweepstakes awards 17 times, been recognized as top area band 5 times, State Marching Band twice – including a first runner up performance. Mr. Lambert has also led 3 TMEA State Honor Bands including a finalist twice and a 1st runner up once.
Personal honors for Mr. Lambert include being named Camp County Chamber of Commerce Educator of the year in 2012, and recipient for the Golden Apple Award for outstanding educators in 2008.
Mr. Lambert’s wife, Leslie, will also be coming to Brownwood ISD to teach and assist Mr. Lambert with the band program. The Lamberts have two children currently attending college.
