A graveside funeral service for David Garza, age 49, of Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 3rd, 2017 in Greenleaf Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00.David passed from this life on Monday, January 30, 2017 in Brownwood, at age 49.
John David Garza was born on December 24, 1967 in Coleman to Isaias and Alicia (Herrera) Garza. He was raised in Santa Anna and graduated from Santa Anna High School. David had a great love of bull riding, rodeos, cooking out and especially the Dallas Cowboys. He loved being with family, especially his nieces and nephews. David was a sweet soul with a big heart. He will be missed, but his memory will remain in our hearts forever.
David is survived by his father, Isaias Garza, Sr. of Brownwood; two sisters, Elsa Garza Ortega and husband Joe of Brownwood and Ruth Garza Pannell of Brownwood; a brother, Isaias “Ike” Garza, Jr. and wife Sabrina of Brownwood; step-father, Bonificio Ibarra of Brownwood; nieces and nephews: Jason Baxter, Jonathan Ortega, Jordan Ortega Brooke Grundy, Cynthia Ramon and Jade Ortega and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alicia Ibarra and a sister, Rose Northrup.
