Daniel Lynn Newton, age 59 passed away on June 1st 2019. Services will be held Wednesday June 5th 2019 at 2:00 pm, and a visitation will take place Tuesday June 4th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Heartland Funeral Home in Early, TX.

Daniel was born March 11th 1960 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He moved to Brownwood Texas in 1974, and graduated from Brownwood High School in 1978. He grew up attending church in the Church of Christ. He married Jackie Kay Shumate on December 4th 1982. God blessed them with three daughters. He is survived by his girls: Tessa Newton, Maggie Newton, and Jessi Newton, as well as his eldest brother Boyce Newton SR; constant companion, his puppy dog Shadow as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will always remember “Uncle Dan”.

Daniel loved being a Texan, after moving here in 1974. He quickly fell in love with Brownwood and being a Brownwood Lion. He built many friendships and made great memories to last a lifetime. The only thing he was more proud of than playing football for Gordon Wood, was the birth of his three daughters. He would always say, “If I did anything right in my life it’s my three girls.”  He loved music, and to sing and dance. “Dan the Man” was a joker who instilled in his daughters the priceless gift of laughter. He was a fisherman, a sun-worshipper, and loved working with his hands. Some of his favorite memories was coaching his girls in Little Dribblers. Daniel loved the Lord, and he loved hard. He loved others without judgement, and always tried to let his light shine. He was an animal lover, a big teddy bear, and his daughters’ best friend. God wanted him before they were ready. He will be missed more than words can say.

“We love you Pops”.
