BBBS_dance2015Big Brothers Big Sisters will host a new fundraiser, Dancing for the Stars, on Thursday, November 12 at the Lyric Theatre in Downtown Brownwood.

Civic leaders and their spouses will battle for the mirror ball trophy in a dance contest, much like television’s Dancing with the Stars.  Each couple will be judged, not only their dancing skills, but their costume and set along with the amount of money they raise for BBBS.

Contestants include Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes & his wife Lori, Cliff & Marisha Ross, Councilman Draco Miller & his wife Sonya, Scott & Janessa King, Chris & Priscilla Monson, Michael & Dana Cloy, Gaylin & Edda Ratliff, Gene & Shawn Russell, Ray & Lisa Tipton, and Jerome & Melody Nowowiejski.

Each couple has committed to raise funds for BBBS and have been partnered with a dance instructor/choreographer to perform one dance routine with costumes and sets.

The winning couple will be selected according to points earned through votes, fundraising and based on the judges’ scoring.  Each dollar on behalf of each couple counts as a “vote” for that couple
