Funeral services for Damon Estes, 68, originally of Mason and long time resident of Zephyr, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at Blaylock Funeral Home with Jerry Smith officiating; a private interment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.
Damon passed away Friday, Sept. 3, 2015 in Abilene. He was born Oct. 31, 1946 to Will and Odessa Estes in Mason, Texas. During the Vietnam War, Damon served in the United States Navy on the USS Pocono for four years. He worked for Higginbotham Brothers in Brownwood for 25 years. Most recently, he was employed by Weakley-Watson Hardware. Damon loved serving and worshiping the Lord. He loved fishing, hunting, and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Marsha Pinson Estes of Zephyr; step-son Bryson Pinson; 3 other adult children; one sister, Martha Lifesta of Mason; and one brother, Rick Estes of Kansas. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
