A memorial service for Dalton Wayne Cox, age 69, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 2:00pm. Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Heartland Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Turnbow officiating.  His family will receive friends following his service. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at his home

Dalton was born on May 11, 1941 in Gorman, Texas to Burnice Williford and Ima Jewel Henry Cox. He graduated from Ector High School in Odessa and married Juanita Williams on March 13, 1973 at her parents home in Brownwood.  He was a 32 degree member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the IOOF.  Mr. Cox was a painter and retired from the Brownwood State School.  He had lived in Odessa, Goldthwaite and the majority of his life was in Brownwood. Survivors include his wife: Juanita (Nita) Cox of Brownwood; children: Kevin Cox and wife Karen of Brownwood ; Greg Cox and wife Kiz of Lolita, Texas; Michelle Janca and husband Andrew of Goliad, Texas; Frank Cox and wife Kristi of Houston, Texas; 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; brothers: Rodney Cox and wife Lou of Abilene; Marvin Cox of Brownwood; Arvil Cox and wife Tonya of Brownwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, B.W. and Ima Cox, one son David Cox, one brother Kenneth Cox and one sister Duronda Cox.
