Memorial services for Dalton Smith, 77, of Lake Brownwood , will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, October 30, in the Netherton Funeral Home Chapel with Lloyd Dail officiating.
Mr. Smith passed away on Monday, October 28, 2013, in his home at Lake Brownwood .
Dalton Ancil Smith was born on March 27, 1936, in Sipe Springs Texas to Edward Lloyd Smith and Ora Armstrong Smith. He served his country in the United States Army and on July 3, 1959, he married Mary Ruth Ryan in Wellman , Texas .
Dalton had lived in Brown County since 1970 and had worked as a mechanic for the first 40 years of his life before becoming an appliance repairman in his later years. He enjoyed working with boats and cars but most of all, he loved riding around on his Gator with his puppy Bossy!Survivors include his wife, Mary Smith of Lake Brownwood ; children, Marie Stewart and husband Larry, of Houston, Bonnie Randall Armstrong of Ft. Worth and Sandra Smith of Brownwood ; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind four sisters, Cynthia Robertson, Bertha Nettles, Bonnie Brookey and Joyce Smith; 13 nieces and nephews; special God-daughter, Leanne Mathis and his “little boy” Bossy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ora Smith; brother, Otis Smith and sister, Clara June Smith.
