Graveside services for Daisy E. Walker, age 87, of Lake Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Rocky Creek Cemetery. Interment will follow under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home & Cremations. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Walker passed away Wednesday morning at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Daisy was born July 25, 1923 in Tampa, Florida to Charles Jacob Sr. and Daisy Faulkner (Townsend) Easterly. She was married to Clarence Lewis Walker, who preceded her in death on December 12, 2006. She had lived in Lake Brownwood since 2004.
Survivors include her children, Rebecca and Smiley Hendry of Moore Haven, Florida, Eugeania Morin of Sutherlin, Oregon and Reba and Luis Vasquez of Lake Brownwood; sisters, Jessie Virginia Farabee of Arcadia, Florida and Nada Naomi Thigpen of Ortona, Florida; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 21 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lewis Walker; parents, Charles Jacob Easterly and Daisy Fortner Townsend Easterly; two children, Deriene Jerrell and infant, Olivia; two grandsons, Virgil Oliver (Buddy) Maddox and Earl George Maddox, Jr.; five sisters and six brothers.
