Curtis Brandstetter, age 83, of Brownwood passed away after a lengthy illness on Thursday, December 14, 2017.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Davis Morris Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Indian Creek Cemetery.  No visitation is planned.

Curtis was born to Walter E. and Katie Clyde Brandstetter on March 25, 1934 on the Coleman/Brown County line.  He married his high school sweetheart, Betty Murlene O’Neal on June 14, 1952.  He lived a full and adventurous life, shared with his family and many friends.  He is well known for his expertise in the Volkswagen and foreign car repair and dealership at Lakeway Automotive for over 50 years.

Curtis is survived by his children:  Diana and husband Johnny White of Mercury, Janice and husband Morris Horton of Brownwood, Tony and wife Tessa Brandstetter of Coleman, Dale and wife Lynn Brandstetter of Hutto, Betty Kay and husband Andy Taylor of Brownwood and Lorri and husband Bill Oswald of Onalaska, 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Murlene Brandstetter, brothers Walter Clyde Brandstetter and Hubert Brandstetter, and daughter Linda Joyce Watson.
