Cross Country Health Care representatives and residents presented the Brownwood Fire Department with a donation to the Shannon Stone Memorial Fund Tuesday morning, July 26, 2011.
Admissions Director Betty Carruth said that the staff “felt like they needed to do something to pay their respects to the Stone family.”
Cross Country Health Care is a neighboring business to the Fire Department Station 2 in south Brownwood. Carruth said that they felt that they have lost a neighbor, as the firemen often come and help the nursing home with moving furniture and with other needs.
“Lt. Stone will be truly missed,” said Carruth. “We wanted to say thanks to all the firemen for putting your lives out there each and every day.”
A donation of $250 was made to the memorial fund by Cross Country Health Care. BFD fire fighter Justin Posey accepted the gift on behalf of the Stone family. Also presented was a memorial picture signed by Cross Country staff.
