Funeral services for Craven D. Temple, age 69, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Coggin Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Skaggs officiating. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of the Heartland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Temple passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at his residence.
Craven was born on October 13, 1947 in Warren Arkansas to Wylie Eugene and Ruby Elizabeth Tidwell Temple. He enlisted into the United States Army on January 7, 1965 and served during Vietnam. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal w/2 bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged on January 5, 1968. Craven was married to Linda O’Connor and was a retired journeyman electrician. He loved his church and family but, most of all he loved watching his grandchildren play sports.
Survivors include his wife Linda Temple; children Don Temple, Jon Temple and wife Alexis, Lisa Miller and husband Dustin, Stephen Temple and Jessica Jones, Brian Temple and wife Christian; sisters Sherry McIntyre, Mary Outlaw and Brenda Stroud; twelve grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
